My art is a continuous exploration of the threshold between reality and imagination, between the obvious and the hidden. I engage closely with the darker aspects of the human condition and with humanity’s relationship with nature. My works create profound atmospheres and compelling spaces for mystery and threat, but also for longing and desire..

 

 

In my works  I engage closely with human experience and perception. I explore the inner landscapes of the psyche, giving expression to the subtle emotions and unspoken things that lie within each of us, sometimes still undiscovered. Through the use of colour that is at times restrained, at times strong and earthy, often in tertiary tones, as well as through structured forms, I create works that appear both familiar and strange. They invite the viewer to engage with subtle details, and through them to uncover larger contexts and experience contradictions.

 

My works are distinguished by a distinctive visual language that often incorporates Romantic and Symbolist elements, while remaining firmly rooted in contemporary artistic practice. This aesthetic lends my work a profound, and at times mystical, quality that is intended to captivate the viewer.

I find my inspiration in the forms and structures of nature, in urban landscapes, and in unsettling yet enchanting moments within the everyday environment. In my works, these elements merge into a complex, often enigmatic representation of the world. My aim is to build a bridge between inner and outer experience, creating a visual language that offers a point of entry into other ways of seeing and being.

 

 

For me, working in the studio is an intensive process, one that is just as important as the finished work itself. It allows me to process inner experience through my works while also gaining new perspectives. As an artist based in Leipzig, I have the privilege of working in a city deeply rooted in the tradition of figurative painting and outstanding contemporary photography, while at the same time offering a dynamic environment that continually strives for the new.
